It is somewhat of a shocker that so many do not know anything about Self Directed IRA. Many know what they have at work, regular 401K. This SDIRA is a little different. YOU control and DIRECT your IRA.

NATE HARE

 

Executive Director at Directed IRA. Nate is a 10-year veteran in the selfdirected
IRA space, spending most of his career as an executive, educator and
public speaker. Nate is a C.I.S.P. (Certified IRA Services Professional), a licensed
loan officer, and has experience in real estate and business development.

 

Nate has been a real estate investor since 2002, a private lender since 2014, and has personally overseen thousands of self-directed IRA investments involving real
estate, promissory notes, private equity, private stock and more.


Nate is an expert on the topic of self-direction and has been a contributor to
US News and World Report, Fox Morning News, and has spoken at hundreds of
real estate conferences, REIAs, webinars and podcasts.


Nate was also named to the Top 100 People in Finance by Top 100 Magazine in
2019.

John entered the mortgage business in 2003 and spent most of his career running capital markets, where he developed a deep understanding of rate movement, pricing, and investor‑driven loan structures. His team produces more than $250 million annually, with a strong emphasis on serving real estate investors. With decades of hands‑on experience supporting rental portfolio growth, John brings a practical, market‑driven perspective to DSCR lending and long‑term investment strategy.

CARL RANDAL

 

Carl is an U. S. Army professional who served in uniform for 26 years, retiring in 2011, and has worked as a Department of the Army Civilian since 2011 for a total of 41 years so far.  

 

Carl’s background in real estate started back in 1976, at the age of 13, when he worked in a family business which owned 24 single-family rentals and two apartment buildings in Lafayette, Louisiana. In 2009, prior to his retirement from the Army, Carl launched his own real estate business under the entity named YCDI ENTERPRISES, LLC. Carl is also a licensed Relator® with Keller Williams since 2013, and a Recovering Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) since January 2026.

 

Carl's Company YCDI ENTERPRISES, LLC employs creative acquisition, revitalization, and disposition solutions to assist sellers, buyers, and investors achieve their goals in the real estate market.

9:00 am = CARL RANDAL - LEASE OPTION - This is a very powerful strategy that many overlook! Did you the this is an OPTION in the MLS listing of Huntsville? Bring your notebook and be ready to take notes. Carl does this strategy regularly!

10:00 am = JOHN MOREY - HYBRID METHOD - John just calls this HYBRID because it is a combination of using a BANK and the SELLER (seller carry). This strategy/technique is extremely powerful. He has shown this at his meetup but never went into the details. John will walk you thru this from how to make the offer to the mechanics of the deal. This is DEFINITELY a creative deal structure (John's specialty).

11:00 am = JOHN KENDALL - DSCR Loan -John will show you the importance of using DSCR loans.  This is perfect if you have a 5-20 not. DSCR is a 30 year note for investors. Powerful!!
